A New Dynasty Begins

Twenty franchises. Permanent identities. One shared history waiting to be written.

Every fantasy hockey league starts with excitement.

IceCore Dynasty starts with a franchise.

Not a team you control for one season. Not a roster that disappears when the playoffs end.

Something you can build.

More Than One Season

Most fantasy leagues are built around the season in front of you.

Draft well. Set the lineup. Make some trades. Chase the championship.

Then the season ends and much of what happened disappears with it.

IceCore was created around a different idea.

Twenty franchises enter the league with permanent identities, and the decisions made by their General Managers carry forward.

Players stay.

Salaries evolve.

Prospects develop.

Championships become history.

A bad contract can become tomorrow’s problem. A young player discovered early can become part of a franchise for years.

Every season leaves something behind.

Think Like a General Manager

IceCore is built more around the work of a General Manager than the work of a fantasy coach.

Your job is to decide who belongs in the organization.

Who do you draft?

Who do you keep?

Who deserves the salary?

Which prospect is worth waiting for?

When is it time to trade a star?

When is it time to rebuild?

And when your roster is built, the players play.

There is no fantasy bench where a healthy player can be hidden because his matchup looks difficult or because Saturday’s schedule is crowded.

If you signed him, he is healthy, and his NHL team puts him on the ice, his performance belongs to your franchise.

Roster construction is the lineup decision.

20 × 20

Twenty franchises.

Twenty active players per franchise.

20 × 20.

The format creates a league deep enough to move beyond the same familiar group of fantasy stars.

Building a complete roster means finding scorers, defensemen, goaltenders, physical players, undervalued veterans and young talent before everybody else sees the same opportunity.

The objective is not to collect twenty famous names.

It is to build a hockey team.

Dynasty Without the Homework

Depth does not have to mean complexity.

IceCore uses salaries, keepers, prospects, an annual Entry Draft, a live Salary Cap Draft, trades, waivers and long-term franchise history.

But every system has to earn its place.

We don’t want complexity simply because dynasty leagues are supposed to be complicated.

The goal is a league where decisions can matter for years without requiring managers to treat fantasy hockey like a second job.

Deep enough to matter. Simple enough to enjoy.

Build. Compete. Rebuild.

Not every franchise should follow the same path.

One General Manager may protect most of a championship roster and enter the market with little cap space.

Another may keep a smaller core, create flexibility and rebuild through the draft and open market.

Some will chase the Cup.

Some will chase the future.

Some will discover that the future arrived earlier than expected.

That difference is the point.

A dynasty becomes interesting when twenty General Managers make twenty different decisions.

The History Starts Here

Today, IceCore has no legendary franchises.

No historic rivalries.

No famous trades.

No devastating draft mistakes.

No dynasties.

No champions.

That is what makes the beginning special.

The team pages, awards, Journal, records and archives are not here to manufacture history.

They are here so that when history happens, we remember it.

Every championship will have a first.

Every rivalry will have an origin.

Every franchise will eventually have stories that did not exist when this page was written.

Twenty franchises.

One shared history.

A new dynasty begins.
