IceCore is designed around the decisions of a General Manager rather than those of a fantasy coach.
You decide whom to acquire.
Whom to release.
Whom to keep.
Whom to trade.
Which prospects deserve patience.
And which players deserve a place on your 20-player roster.
Once that decision is made, the player belongs to your team.
If he is healthy and his NHL team puts him on the ice, his performance counts.

Every IceCore franchise is built around a 20-player active roster:
12 Forwards · 6 Defensemen · 2 Goaltenders
There is no traditional fantasy bench.
That is intentional.
A General Manager should not have to decide on Saturday morning that one of the healthy players he owns somehow does not count that night.
The roster itself is the decision.
Decisions Have Consequences
Removing the bench does not remove strategy.
It moves strategy somewhere else.
Instead of deciding who sits, General Managers decide who deserves a roster spot in the first place.
A struggling player cannot simply be hidden on the bench.
A goaltender facing an elite offense still belongs to your roster.
A depth defenseman who blocks shots and plays hard minutes can have real value.
An injury may force a franchise to react through free agency, waivers or organizational depth.
Those are management decisions.
And management decisions are what IceCore is built around.
Depth Matters
Twenty active players across twenty franchises means 400 active players belong to IceCore teams.
That changes how the league feels.
Success cannot come only from knowing the biggest stars.
General Managers need to understand second and third lines, defensive specialists, emerging players, goaltending situations and overlooked contributors.
The deeper the league becomes, the more hockey knowledge matters.
Activity Without Lineup Chores
IceCore is not designed to reward the manager who remembers to press the right lineup button every morning.
Activity should matter where General Managers actually have influence:
scouting, acquisitions, waivers, trades, prospect development, salary decisions and long-term roster construction.
